The Cherepish Monastery has a scenic location on top of cliffs on the Iskar River bank, near the village of Cherepish, and 29 km southeast of Vratsa. It dates from the end of the 14th century. The establishment of the Cherepishki Cloister is closely linked with the history of the mediaeval town of Koriten existing at the nearby locality of Ritlite. Its name is related to the battles of Tzar Ivan Shishman against the Ottoman conquerors.
