The Glojenski monastery sits 12km. from the city of Teteven and unlike its Bulgarian counterparts it is perched on a high stone massif. Seen fromfar it resembles a fairy-tale castle. The Russian prince Gloj is rumoured to have built it. Great educational activity took place in the monastery at the end of 18th and beginning of 19th century. Interesting sights include The Kiev's gospel and the church icon "St.George the Conqueror".
